Artist statement
“My work begins in stillness. Before I touch the canvas, I meditate — letting go of thought, allowing whatever emotion is present to simply surface. My art is less something I create and more something I witness unfold.”
I work primarily with charcoal and acrylic. Charcoal captures the immediacy of a single emotion — raw, unfiltered, honest. Acrylic allows me to layer and return, to sit longer with a feeling and let it reveal its different shades.
I don't set out to depict what I see, but to translate what I sense — the quiet movement of the mind, fragments of memory, the silence between thoughts. Each piece becomes a kind of meditation in itself, a visible trace of an inner state.
I rarely begin with a fixed idea or title. I begin with a feeling, and I let the materials guide where it goes.

Deepshikha Rahi is a visual artist from Prayagraj whose practice is rooted in meditation and introspection.
Working primarily with charcoal and acrylic, her art emerges from a process of stillness and self-reflection — translating inner emotions and states of mind onto canvas rather than depicting external reality. Each piece serves as a quiet meditation: a visible trace of feeling, memory, and presence.
